Krisi

We had two weddings this weekend: Krisi's (The Point), and Sarah's (Snowbird Cliff Lodge). Here's a quick shot of Krisi's bridal bouquet -- orange tulips, a sprinkling of bear grass loops, and seeded eucalytpus. Very simple but striking. Her gown was ivory with a gorgeous plum sash, so you can imagine just how the orange popped against her dress. This wedding was a good example of prioritizing. The bride and groom's family is rather large and it was important to them to honor those they are close to so they opted to spend their entire budget on walking flowers (i.e., bouquets, corsages, and boutonierres). Surprisingly, 14 is actually NOT the largest number of corsages we've done in a given wedding, but its close!

I'll post initial photos from Sarah's wedding a little later. For now, I'm off to make dinner!

*Shiny Happy People*

Megan's bridal sitting bouquet. By no means would I consider myself a B-52's fan, but for some reason while I was putting this bouquet together earlier in the week, I kept humming the song, "Shiny Happy People Holding Hands." Could not get it out of my head! Bright colors, friendly flowers...I guess it fits!

{so happy...}

I come from a fairly small family by society's standards and only have two cousins on my paternal side. My cousin Katy has always been my kindred spirit. Our family is very involved in each other's lives so we were always together growing up -- whether we wanted to be or not. Over the years we have endured quite a bit of family tragedy which has forged an even closer bond between us. She's a couple years younger than me, but as a child was my best friend, and as an adult, has become someone I truly respect and admire. This past week Katy called to tell us she was engaged to her love, Nolan. Nolan (and her relationship with him) has been around for a long time -- longer than either of my children. Tyler and I adore him and the role he has assumed in Katy's life. We've been waiting (and waiting, and waiting!) for this announcement and could not be more delighted. It's funny -- my life is consumed by weddings and I find excitement in each event I'm involved with. This time however, I'm a little surprised that I feel SO overjoyed by this union. I suppose its because I've traveled along with them on this journey and have been there though the ups and downs. I've watched them grow. I've watched them learn to trust. And I was there as they finally began to understand what it meant to love with your whole heart and spirit. The wedding is tentatively set for the fall, and I'll be heading out to CA to be a part of it. Tyler and I can't wait. We're just so happy... Congratulations sweet Kate and Nolan!

Pretty in pink...(and chocolate!)

Jessica got married last week. Her reception was at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. She picked a centerpiece we did years ago at Cassie's wedding which is why it may look familiar to anyone who has spent time on our website. Her flowers were Titanic and Vendela roses, pink gerbera daisies and mini gerberas, and pink and cream spray roses elsewhere. My favorite part of this wedding? The flower girl's halo, hands down. She was so adorable with her curly brown hair and chocolate brown dress -- the halo made her look like a princess!

Who likes tulips?

I know what you're thinking...why is she posting a photo of a simple little tulip bouquet? Well, I happen to know an uber-talented photographer who happens to peruse this blog from time to time, who happens to employ the color orange quite a bit and happens to have a penchant for tulips as well...thought it might bring a little cheery smile to her face.
This was Krisi's bridal sitting bouquet. Simple and streamlined. Look for her wedding next week.

New June Availability

Marrisa's wedding was about this time two years ago. Wasn't she a gorgeous bride? We recently got word that they are expecting a baby girl in a few months. Congratulations! Its so fun to be there at the beginning and then watch these little families grow...

Availability Update:

As of today, a previously scheduled vacation has been canceled so I am reopening the last two weeks of June. From a weekend wedding standpoint, that leaves June 20-21 and June 27 up for grabs (the preceding weekdays are available as well). If you're interested in scheduling a consultation, make sure to call soon because I doubt those dates will be around for long!

Brittney

Brittney was married Saturday. I only have the bouquet photos I took in the morning. It was too dark in Little America to get a decent picture of anything else. I'm seriously flash impaired...

Vendela roses, a few cream spray roses, and chocolate dahlias...I'm loving these new chocolate colored varieties -- it's nice to have options other than cosmos!
