Take a peek into our insanely busy weekend!

This past weekend was so busy, we hardly had time to fit in even a few short gasps of air. Friday night we provided decorations for a delightful cowboy-themed event in Holladay. We stuck around long enough to enjoy some of the delicious chuck-wagon fare, live music, and cowboy poetry. Saturday we had Sarah and Tyler's wedding at the Salt Lake Temple and reception at The Gathering Place. Her colors were baby pink and chocolate brown -- a popular combination so far this year. We used Titanic and Sweet Akito roses, light pink stock, waxflowers, and fiddleheads for her main floral elements. In the middle of prepping for Sarah's wedding, we also had Stephanie's bouquet for her bridal portraits that afternoon. For her bouquet we used Shocking Versailles and Tropical Amazon roses, as well as hot pink and orange mini gerberas. It was a busy weekend, but we turned out some fun designs. Coming up this week, Angela's wedding reception at The Point.

Sarah's Bridals

Sarah is shooting her bridals this afternoon. Because of the insanity of Valentine's Day week, we opted to go for a small and very simple bouquet for Sarah's bridals. I used light pink "Vendela Rosetta" roses, light pink bouvardia, a tiny bit of seeded eucalyptus, and camilla. For her wrap she chose an underlay of white satin with an overlay tight ballet wrap of pink and chocolate ribbon. Lucky girl has some pretty awesome weather on her side today -- warm and overcast and perfect for pictures. Just cross your fingers that it doesn't rain...

Saturday, February 3 was Kim and Chris' wedding at the Salt Lake temple and reception at The Old Meeting House. She chose multiple shades of red roses (Black Magic, Black Bacarra, Freedom, and Charlotte) and hypericum berries for her flowers, along with Camillia, Myrtle, seeded eucalyptus, and lots of sheer black ribbon as accents. Kim was gorgeous -- her cranberry red sash matched the roses perfectly!
Kate Benson, one of my favorite photographers EVER, shot this wedding. She graciously sent me these photos yesterday to post here. Thank you, Kate! The last photo is absolutely not Kate's -- I think you'll notice a striking difference in talent and quality -- it's one I shot before I left the reception. It's a fresh rose and berry topiary tree over 4 1/2 feet tall. You'll see there are also roses, berries, greenery and moss at the base of the trunk. The head of the topiary used over 125 roses alone and was deceptively heavy! Just gorgeous, though...
