I call it Bubble Gum Pink...

July chaos at Whimsy
I've been so busy with work and life that posting has been nearly impossible for the past couple weeks, so I apologize. Many of you know we're doing a major overhaul on our house -- completely remodeling an entire level. I knew I would be without a kitchen due to the 10 days that lapse between the time a granite template is made and the countertop is installed, as well as lacking basic necessities such as running water, appliances, etc. (not to mention the incredible construction dust!) so I purposefully took a mini-vacation by blocking out the week and a half things would be the most torn up. Week and a half? Ha! We are still using my workshop as our kitchen (thank goodness for the second kitchen!), the countertop is in and beautiful but we still have no water, the appliances haven't been delivered yet, but it wouldn't matter anyways because everything is such a mess and the floor hasn't even been started. Our main bathroom has been completely gutted down to the studs, and it feels like the project will likely never end! But life goes on and work goes on, and our summer wedding schedule has resumed despite the interesting production circumstances. Thank goodness for awesome staff who pretend not to care that they're tripping over each other and everything else in their way around here.
So before I go back to breaking up old baseboards, I'll post a few photos of our recent doings. We've done quite a few bridals in the past couple weeks, but haven't managed to take any photos before they're picked up. Sorry! You'll just have to wait to see the weddings... Coming up on our calendar: Tomorrow is Haley's wedding at Log Haven, and Saturday is Lyanna's reception at Red Butte. We've also got two bridal sittings this week, so there will be some nice diversity in the flowers used...hopefully I'll find time to post photos! Take care!

Happy July!
Friday was Alisa's wedding at Millcreek Inn. This was one gorgeous wedding! Lindsey Hale did the photography -- I didn't take even one shot of my own -- so the moment I get some images from her, I'll post them. You're going to LOVE this wedding! They went all out with their centerpieces. My team had a definite favorite among the designs -- I'll let you all vote on your favorite when you get to see the photos!
Kim had her bridals today. Her colors are deep red, dark orange, and a golden yellow. Here's her simple little bouquet for her bridal sitting. Stay tuned for her wedding in August!

Millcreek Inn

Yesterday was Kelly and Chad's wedding and reception at the beautiful Millcreek Inn. Extra special thanks to OpieFoto for the photos (except for the last few...those are unfortunately mine!). Her work is beyond gorgeous...hence the plethora of photos.
Quickly -- The bridal bouquet was a full, round bouquet of pink and cream peonies wrapped in champagne satin, the bridesmaids' bouquets were made of cream roses, they chose two designs for the centerpieces, and check out that adorable ring bearer pillow made out of moss... It was an amazing setting and the bride (a professional model) couldn't have been more beautiful. I can't wait to get a photo or two of her!
We'll be back up at Millcreek this week as well for Alisa's wedding. Stay tuned for that one!

Anyone know a good plumber?

Photo of this weekend's centerpieces... Clustered pink and cream flowers with green accents. Peonies, hydrangea, lisianthus, bouvardia, poppy pods, heather, and hypericum berries.
Disaster strikes on Saturday!
We come home late Saturday night after being out all day to find the toilet tank in our main bathroom had cracked at some point and water had been leaking through the floor into our basement ceiling for who knows how many hours. The ceiling was significantly bowed right over MY desk (Whimsy central!), looking like it was going to burst at any moment. What a mess. The only silver lining to the situation is that we're already in the process of renovating our main kitchen and bathrooms (we hadn't gotten started on the big work in that bathroom yet), so all it did was add more work onto the already never ending list of tasks to be completed. So if you end up at my house for a consultation or to pick up flowers, don't ask to use the restroom -- I'll have to send you to the basement!

Pink and grass -- a great combination!

Okay -- last post for the day. (Just trying to get caught up here!)
Last night was Crista's wedding and reception at Log Haven. What a gorgeous place and what a gorgeous bride! Log Haven is such a fun venue to use because its already got so much ambiance, anything you do just enhances it's charm. A huge treat for me was the drop-in by Chauntelle Janzer from OpieFoto. She happens to be one of our favorite clients (see her featured wedding on our website) who has since entered the realm of professional photography. She came by just to take some shots of our stuff, and I must say, I was pretty amazed -- her work is just stunning! I am so, so excited to see where the field takes her. I'm going to attach a bunch of the photos she took so you can see what I'm talking about. If you're in the market for an insanely creative photographer, check this girl out!
Crista's colors were light and bright pink, and sage. We used a variety of flowers and lots of wheat grass. Her bouquet featured white, pink, and green callas, the bridesmaid and mothers had mixed bouquets, the toss was all gerbs, the tables contained a mixed arrangement in a cube with a floating mini gerb in a smaller cube on either side, with an even smaller cube containing wheat grass with a pink ribbon embellishment on either side of that, finished off with a few white cylinder votives. (I love the creative designs we're able to implement for those long tables!) We had adorable pink pomanders at the ceremony, and take a look at that cake! It was just all so fun and comfortable. They were such gracious clients -- what a pleasure it was to be a part of this wedding!
